Who Are We?
The Baptism Ministry is committed to serving those who have made a decision to be baptized, which is the first act of faith and obedience for every believer.
Eligibility to Volunteer
In order to serve in this ministry, you must be a member of The Brooklyn Tabernacle and be able to stand and do some light physical work.
Activities & Functions
- Workers help to register candidates for baptism and provide them with all pertinent information leading up to the day of baptism.
- Baptism workers provide assistance to the pastors and baptism candidates on the day of the baptism service.
- Workers maintain a safe and expedient procession of candidates into the baptistry.
Frequency of Service
Water Baptism workers serve as part of one large team. Each volunteer serves four times a year, in the days leading up to the four annual baptism services and also during the baptism services.
Length of Commitment
There are approximately four baptism cycles per year. The baptism service is normally held on Thursday evenings from 6pm–9pm. (All workers are required to attend.)
Water Baptism volunteers must be able to perform light physical activities. In addition, all volunteers are asked to make a one-year commitment to the ministry. You may choose to stay longer as the Lord leads.
