Who Are We?

The Keepers of God's House ministry is dedicated to maintaining the house of God at the highest level of cleanliness.

"We will not neglect the house of our God".

Eligibility to Volunteer

In order to serve in this ministry, you must be a member of the Brooklyn Tabernacle or in the process of becoming a member.

Activities & Functions

The roles of a Keeper of God's house include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning restrooms
  • Vacuuming
  • Sweeping
  • Mopping
  • Dusting
  • Garbage removal
  • Gum removal
  • Polishing metal objects

Frequency of Service

Provide limited daily cleaning support and more extensive support based on the following schedule:

  • Sunday after the 9am service:
    Light touch up of bathrooms and Sanctuary
  • Sunday after the 12pm service:
    Light touch up of bathrooms and Sanctuary
  • Sunday after the 3pm service:
    Detailed cleaning of bathrooms and Sanctuary
  • Tuesday after the Prayer Meeting:
    Detailed cleaning of bathrooms and Sanctuary
  • Saturday 9:00am until 12:00pm:
    Detailed cleaning of the entire church and 180 Livingston 

Length of Commitment

All Keepers of God's House volunteers are asked to make a one-year commitment to the ministry.

Special Requirements

Workers must be able to lift 10-15lbs. If you are interested and have a pre-existing medical concern, a medical waiver will need to be completed or a doctor's written approval must be presented to the Brooklyn Tabernacle prior to service.
