The question of when we will be gathering together again has been the subject of much prayer and discussion by our church’s leadership. We are asking God for wisdom as we attempt to follow the guidelines of New York State and New York City regarding the timing for reopening our church campus. At the same time, we are making plans and putting protocols in place to ensure your safety and well-being when we are able to meet again. Who Are We?

The Access-A-Ride assists the Access-A-Ride commuters getting to and from the sanctuary while showing the love of Christ at all times.

Eligibility to Volunteer

In order to serve in this ministry, you must be a member of the Brooklyn Tabernacle or in the process of becoming a member.

Activities & Functions

  • Workers meet arriving Access-A-Ride Vans to assist the commuter into the church entrances and also assist the commuter to the Access-A-Ride Van upon their departure at the end of service.
  • Worker must exercise proper caution, extreme care and alertness when moving with the commuters.

Frequency of Service

Access-A-Ride workers serve as part of a team. Each team rotates to cover each service on Sunday. There are also two teams that serve only on Tuesday Night Prayer Meeting. Each serve two Tuesdays a month.

Length of Commitment

All Access-A-Ride ministry volunteers are asked to make a one-year commitment to the ministry.

Special Requirements

Workers must have the ability to assist wheelchair and disabled commuters up ramp into the sanctuary. Workers will also remain with the commuter until their van arrives.
