The question of when we will be gathering together again has been the subject of much prayer and discussion by our church’s leadership. We are asking God for wisdom as we attempt to follow the guidelines of New York State and New York City regarding the timing for reopening our church campus. At the same time, we are making plans and putting protocols in place to ensure your safety and well-being when we are able to meet again. Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.

In the meantime, we hope that you will continue to join us for Tuesday Prayer Onlinebeginning at 7pm; Sunday Worship Online, beginning at 9am; and weekday Devotions Onlinebeginning at 10am. We also invite you to check the Churchwide Announcements on our home page to learn about additional online events for each member of your family.

God Has Your Back!

Friday, November 15, 2019

“After this, [Abraham] had a vision and heard the Lord say to him, ‘Do not be afraid, [Abraham].  I will shield you from danger and give you a great reward.’“ (Genesis 15:1 GNT)

Turn on the television and you see images of strife and conflict all over the world; open the newspapers and you read terrifying accounts of local crimes.  It’s enough to make anyone afraid and concerned about their own well-being and the safety of their loved ones.

But God has told his people down through history, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you.”  He said it to Abraham, the father of faith; and to the prophet Elijah; and to Mary the mother of Jesus.  And he says it to us today.  In other words, God has our back!

No wonder the writer to Hebrews exclaimed, “God has said, ‘I will never leave you; I will never abandon you.’  Let us be bold, then, and say, ‘The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.  What can anyone do to do me?’" (Hebrews 13:5-6)

Let us then come boldly before God’s throne, seeking his mercy and his help, and let us be encouraged in our faith. God is going to take care of us, today and always!

Read Genesis chapter 15:1-6.
