OUR MISSION
The goal of The Brooklyn Tabernacle Missions Ministry is to share the love of Jesus throughout the world, both in word and in action. We want to see men, women, youth, and children of all nations become disciples of Christ. We organize short-term teams to work in partnership with local ministries to provide ministry services that the local partners can use to help in their existing community outreaches. Our approach is holistic in that we minister to both the body and the spirit.
OUR MISSIONARIES
MERCY PROJECTS
Mercy projects are long-term commitments to evangelism, discipleship, humanitarian aid and community development in a target area where the need is great. The Brooklyn Tabernacle currently supports a variety of Mercy Projects, listed below. If you have a heart for any of these projects or countries, we welcome your prayer and financial support. 100% of the proceeds will be used towards the projects.
Our various mission locations serve the communities in which they are located through the most basic humanitarian need: Food Programs. Together, these locations serve more than 3,500 meals on a weekly basis to poor children and families living in sometimes desperate situations.
Most of our missionaries did not start out intending to create food programs. Instead, as they ministered the Bread of Life to the people, they were struck by the immediate need for the physical bread of life as well. As the ministries have grown, so has the need to help children and families in some of the most desperate situations.
Health care in the 3rd world is a major challenge and the vast majority of people have no access to health care because it’s either out of reach or too expensive. Since 2003, our volunteer medical/dental mission teams have ministered in many locations world-wide including Haiti, Dominican Republic, Peru, various African and Asian countries and the Middle East. Our goal is to share the love of Jesus in the most tangible and practical way possible. In our free clinics, we welcome people from every religious, ethnic and racial background.
Our missionaries are also involved in longer term medical ministry projects such as permanent Primary Medical Clinics in Malawi and Lebanon. Medical Ministry allows ministries to minister to the sick in practical ways.
Most of the children that our ministries work with are at great risk spiritually, physically and emotionally. Whether ministering to orphans left homeless by the AIDS epidemic in Malawi, or sheltering and caring for abused and at-risk children in Guyana, our missionaries provide Godly instruction and material care.
EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP
The lack of education for children and youth is a serious long term issue for any community and their families. Lack of education can have severe long term consequences which can lead youth to serious social problems such as gangs, crime or trafficking.
However, the majority of 3rd world children are not attending school. For example in Haiti, 50% of children do not attend school, most because they cannot afford it. Our missionaries’ community outreach includes sponsoring children and youth for their education, whether to primary or secondary school or providing tutoring services.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created enormous hardships for the whole world. More than 21 million people have been infected as of mid-August 2020. Virtually every government around the world has implemented lockdowns that have shut down schools and businesses. According to a news report, 1 billion jobs were lost globally. The countries that our missionaries serve in lack the resources to help their own population. In addition, there are millions of refugees that have fled war such as in Syria or Yemen. Our missionaries are currently providing food relief aid in their communities that have been hard hit by COVID-19.
