Command Ye Me
“Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.” (Isaiah 45:11 KJV)
How often during His earthly life did Jesus put men in a position to command Him! When entering Jericho, He stood still and said to the blind beggars, “What will ye that I should do unto you?” It was as though he said, I am yours to command. And can we ever forget how He yielded to the Syrophoenician woman the key to His resources, and told her to help herself even as she would? … He seems to set us beside Himself on His throne, and says while the fire of the Spirit is scorching and ridding us of sordid and selfish desire, all My resources are at your command to accomplish anything which you have set your hearts upon. Whatsoever ye shall ask that will I do.
With the single limitation that our [petitions must be about] His sons and the work of His hands, and must be included in the word of promise, Jehovah says to us, His redeemed children in Jesus Christ, “Command ye Me.”
