You Can't Outgive God!
"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19 NIV)
In his letter to the Philippians, the Apostle Paul thanked the believers for the gift they had sent him. Then he told them that God himself would supply all of their needs according to his riches in glory. So, in providing for someone else’s needs, the Philippians had been made rich as well, with the promise of God’s provision for their own lives. This reminds us that we can't outgive God! In his letter to the Romans, Paul puts it this way: “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32) Remember this the next time you are worried about your own financial situation and needs when you are prompted to be faithful and cheerful in giving. Our heavenly Father already gave us the greatest gift: the Treasure of heaven—his only Son. Will he now not provide for all that we need?
