Do You Know His Name?

“Those who know your name trust in you…” (Psalm 9:10 NIV)

Who trusts in God?  Those who know his name.  You see, name in the Bible stands for character.  When we pray in the name of Jesus, we’re not saying some magical phrase, but we are standing on Jesus, the Son of God, and what he has done – laying aside his glory to become flesh, dying on the cross for our sins, being raised as the firstborn from among the dead, and now being seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for the saints.  No wonder we can put our trust in him!

As you come to him in prayer today, think of all of his attributes as King of kings, Lord of lords, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father, Lion of Judah (which depicts his strength), Lily of the valley (which depicts his meekness), Savior of the world, our Fortress and Strong Tower, our Hiding Place, and our very great reward!  Ask God to help you know his name by the power of the Holy Spirit.  And then trust him for all that you need today.

Read Psalm 9 in its entirety.
