God's Promises and Our Faith
“Asa prayed to the Lord his God, ‘O Lord, you can help a weak army as easily as a powerful one. Help us now, O Lord our God, because we are relying on you, and in your name we have come out to fight against this huge army. Lord, you are our God; no one can hope to defeat you.’” (2 Chronicles 14:11 GNT)
The question is not how things look on the surface to the natural eye, but whether we’re trusting God to help us win the battle. Out of nowhere, good king Asa was attacked by the far superior numbers of the Ethiopian army. But mathematics doesn’t give the final answer—God does. Asa did more than believe God had all power—he prayed with all his heart for help! What God promised he would do for us still has to be worked out in the arena of life by fervent prayers of faith.
Let’s pray it through today and see what God will do.
