A Power Beyond Ourselves

Friday, August 18, 2017

“…and how very great is his power at work in us who believe. This power working in us is the same as the mighty strength which he used when he raised Christ from death…” (Ephesians 1:19-20)

You can’t explain a real Christian, according to Jesus, because they’re working with a power that’s beyond themselves. (See Acts 1:8.)  Jesus is the one who introduces us to a supernatural and unexplainable way of living through his Holy Spirit who lives inside every believer.  It is the Holy Spirit who brings the power of God into our lives so that instead of fear, we have a spirit of boldness.  If we suffer from complexes and are held back by what our parents or someone else did to us as we were growing up, it is Jesus by his Holy Spirit who can remove those shackles.  If we find our lives out of control, he can give us discipline and a balanced life.  Don’t settle for anything less than God’s power in your life.  Call upon his name today, seek his face, open his Word, and ask him to do his work in you by the power of his precious Holy Spirit.

Read Ephesians 1:15-23.
