Keep Your Heart
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23 NKJV)
The kingdom of God is in the heart. That’s where Jesus reigns or doesn’t reign; that is where he is accepted or rejected. God doesn’t visit your head or the building where you meet with other believers. He visits your heart. In fact, what will determine your destiny and your relationship with the Lord is your heart. The Scriptures tell us that “it is with your heart that you believe and are justified…” (Romans 10:10 NIV) and that out of the abundance of our hearts our mouths speak. If our hearts are so important to our spiritual, emotional, mental, and even physical well-being, how ought we to guard our hearts? The best way to do this is to ask the Lord to search our hearts by the Holy Spirit, and to listen to his voice when he speaks. Let him do that for you today.
