“By the blood of Christ we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven. How great is the grace of God, which he gave to us in such large measure!” (Ephesians 1:7-8 GNT)
Because Jesus is the Son of God and the Savior of the world, he has the authority to forgive sins. His sacrificial death on the cross and his triumphant resurrection make it possible for sinners to be forgiven and born into the family of God. This miracle is not the result of our good works, because salvation is wholly the gift of God. Grace is love that pays a price to save people who don’t deserve it. God in his grace gives us what we don’t deserve, and in his mercy he doesn’t give us what we do deserve. Jesus didn’t deserve punishment; we deserved it... “But... the blood of Jesus... cleanses us from all sin” ((1 John 1:7).

Let’s take time to thank God for the blood of Jesus that has washed away our sin. “O precious is the flow that washed me white as snow. No other fount I know; nothing but the blood of Jesus!”
